Long a lost lonely sinner
Walking in darkness like night
Wandering as if blind
Sin had curtailed my sight
At times a prayer escaped my lips
Seeking without knowing why
The sovereignty of God urging me
From my heart to continue to try
By His grace I was saved
My chained, troubled soul free
He touched my eyes, the scales were gone
The glory of the cross, I was able to see.

The Mountain Top
Most times on top of the mountain
Singing with joy and peace
When worldly anxiety slips in
Joy inside seems to cease
Just for but a moment
Then my worry slips away
For my Savior takes on my burden
When I fall to my knees and pray
His loving hands will pick me up
When in weakness I fall in sin
He will place me back on the mountain
Where my song of joy, again will begin.
What joy fills my heart
When my thoughts are of You
As I lay down to rest
When the day is through
As I thank You with prayer
For Your presence through the day
For Your love and gentle care
How You provide in every way
This grace I do not deserve
And the love to which I cling
As I lay down to rest
What joy it does bring.
Gaze upon me Lord
For You surely see all things
May Your Spirit remove the bad
To which my self clings
For I pray to be
Like the One I adore
In perfect obedience
To fail You no more
For those around me to know
This love I long to give
Comes through me from my Savior
The reason that I live.
I spent some time in prayer
As I usually do
Went about my business
When that time was through
Started some insignificant thing
When I felt an urge I could not ignore
Sensing my heart, crying out
Stop and pray some more
I understood at once
I could sense my whole being smile
My Almighy God delights in our time
When I stay more than just a little while
