In the stillness of my waking hour
I praise You in my joy and peace
Finding comfort in the way You care
With a love that will not ever cease
A song plays out in my heart
One of worship and glory to You
I start each day with a prayer to be
Your reflection in everything that I do.

Morning light takes over the darkness
The new beginning of a day
Praise be to my God
I at once begin to pray
Last night before I closed my eyes
I prayed Lord forgive me of my sin
Of the many times I enjoy my life
And forget to let You in
I prayed to be mindful of everything
With love You so eagerly give
The moon, the stars, the sunrise
Your saving grace that I could live
Morning light takes over the darkness
Where it comes from, I am aware
This new day a gift to me that shows
With love how much You care.

My Lord at times I stumble
For I forget and look away
Help me keep my eyes on  You
In this I earnestly pray
Help me stay focused
Live what I read
For Your Holy Word
Is all that I need
May I testify to what is true
For nothing can replace
The love of the Father
In His gift of saving Grace.

Opening my eyes, my mind starts to race
On the many things I need to do
Looking toward the light filtering in
With joy my thoughts turn to you
I whisper Your name in prayer
Rejoice in a brand new day
My God I am so thankful
Praise and glory I continue to say
For just the fact I opened my eyes
Have strength to get up and do

Lord You help me in my walk
As I stumble and fall down
You help me stem the tide of sin
Without You I surely drown
You help me to discern
This world of unknown
Console me when I realize
How little I have grown
Yet not discouraged
I continue to rejoice
You my caring Savior
Always listen for my voice
So I rise from my knees
With love and thankful prayer
Singing glory to my God
For I know by faith You are there.
