Like a cold drink of water
On a hot summers day
Our soul is refreshed
When we kneel down to pray
As if we have reached an oasis
Saved from despair before we could sink
Safe in the shade of His grace
Quenched by the living water we drink.

I stopped by a tree and thanked my God
For creation He so easily gives
For all the things He does in my life
And if I forget ,how easily He forgives

I listened to the stream and heard His voice
Even heard it in the birds that sing
Rejoiced for the things He gives my world
And all the blessings that they bring

His hand touches everything around me
To remind me that He lives
For all the things He does in my life
And if I forget, how easily He forgives.

While in quiet meditation
In my mind a picture of what You have done
I saw the cross at Calvary
I wept at the sight of Your Son
Rejoiced when I pictured Him risen
In joy, thought of the promise it brings
In the hope of eternal gladness
To the Savior my heart sings.

I was lost in a world so full of sin
Never caring where some roads led
A life filled with so much illusion
Ignorant that my spiritual life needed to be fed
Then the sovereign grace of God called out to me
I was moved to turn to His Holy Word
And I will never forget the love I felt
When my heart knew it was His voice I heard

The song of the birds that soar the skies
The sound of the gentle wind in the trees
How great the Hand that made these things
In awe and praise I fall to my knees
With such love and care He formed this earth
The oceans and forests how mighty they stand
What a wonderful God who chose me before time
Then created me with that very same Hand.
