My childhood hero’s
Long since faded away
Reality has stepped in
I thankfully pray
Youthful heart once clutched
To the hero on the screen
Now filled with awe
Gazing upon Calvary’s scene
What greater hero
Could there ever be
Than the One Who laid down
His life for me.
