As I Lay Down To Rest

What joy fills my heart
When my thoughts are of You
As I lay down to rest
When the day is through
As I thank You with prayer
For Your presence through the day
For Your love and gentle care
How You provide in every way
This grace I do not deserve
And this love to which I cling
As I lay down to rest
What joy it does bring.

Ode To Thee
As I put pen to paper,
Your Spirit gives me the words to say.
The words channel through my heart,
As I begin to pray
Everything I write a testimony,
Of what You have done for me.
How I once was blind to Your Grace,
You opened my eyes to see.
The words flow freely because of Your Love,
You broke the chains and set me free.
With a thankful heart of this gift to write,
I pen this ode to Thee.
